The Kipuwex Solution is a comprehensive patient monitoring system that combines wireless biosensor technology with individual and centralized monitoring interfaces. The Kipuwex biosensor is the heart of this system, enabling automatic and continuous physiological measurements – data are sent wirelessly to a Kipuwex Tablet.

Kipuwex is a medical device attached to a patient’s chest with a bridge and ECG-pads. It measures clinically important physiological parameters wirelessly and continuously. The physiological parameters can be monitored remotely anywhere and at any time with a mobile application.

The Kipuwex device is a battery-operated wearable device with integrated sensors and wireless transceiver, to record electrocardiography (ECG), heart rate, heart rate variability, R-R interval, respiratory rate, skin temperature, posture.

Apply the device to healthy, intact skin only. There are three possible positions for attaching the device:

1) Place Kipuwex device diagonally on the upper left chest, two fingers below jugular notch.  

2) Place device horizontally below chest on the rib cage, just left of the centerline between collarbones  

3) Device placed horizontally on chest, two fingers below the collarbone, left of the midline  

Download the Kipuwex application to your Android tablet. Attach the Kipuwex device to the patient’s chest. Connect the device to the application to access all the measurements and data. Measured data is shown on the Kipuwex mobile application. Data is presented as numbered values or on a graphic scale. Data is stored on mobile memory and can be accessed from the applications history charts.

Minimum requirements are Android 10 or higher. To achieve optimal view we recommend to use resolution: 1920 x 1200.

Removing chest hair: Shaving for men is required for optimizing device adhesion, maximizing signal quality and avoiding discomfort during removal.

Cleaning skin: The skin should be free from lotions and oils to maximize adhesion.

Handling: Take care not to touch the adhesive or hydrogel while applying the device; hold in the middle section of the biosensor that is free from adhesives while removing liners and positioning the device for application. Do not use isopropyl alcohol to clean skin prior to applying the Kipuwex device. Alcohol dries the skin, increases the possibility of skin irritation, and can diminish electrical flow.

When the green light is on.

No. Once the device is charged on and activated, it cannot be turned off. Device will enter into low power consumption mode automatically when device is not being used.

48 hours after which it will cease to function. Stored data on the device can be transmitted before and after the device turns off. Kipuwex device’s life cycle is two years. The device battery life cycle is 2 years.

1. Battery needs to be recharged once the device indicates low battery by illuminating red LED light. 

Third party devices are connected to the Kipuwex phone application via Bluetooth.  Please follow the instructions from the Kipuwex Instructions for Use and the QuickStart Guide.

Try these troubleshooting steps in the order shown below, once reconnected discontinue the subsequent steps.

• Check that bluetooth connection is activated. If it is actived and device does not connect, restart bluetooth connection.
• Confirm the device is charged and showing green light.
• Empty the cache memory from your mobile
• Close and relaunch the Kipuwex application
• Go to Kipuwex homepage kipuwex.com and ask for assistance.

Kipuwex is classified as IP67 device and hence it’s a water resistant. However, the device shall not be used in the shower or sauna or similar environment.

The Kipuwex device was designed so patients can go about their daily lives.  Do not use Kipuwex device on an aircraft or high magnetic environment.

Patients may experience slight discomfort and/or itchiness as a result of wearing medical-grade hydrocolloid adhesives.  If patients experience discomfort or irritation beyond mildly tolerated symptoms, the device should be removed from the patient immediately. If continued use of the device is desired, try applying it in another recommended location as it may be more comfortable for the patient. If the patient experiences an allergic reaction, discontinue use immediately and seek medical attention if the condition does not improve in several days.

If the device shows that it is connected, press down firmly on the device to reattach it to the skin. 

Should the software application indicate that a “device off” event has been detected, remove the ECG-pads and replace with a new ones.

To be able to measure pain reliably, it’s necessary to capture both relevant physiological and behavioral measurements from the patient such as crying intensity, movement (=behavioral factors) physiological parameters ECG, respiratory rate, etc. With the help of AI correlation between different signals will be analysed and converted in to pain scale 0-10.
